Today we went swimming to practice for swimming sports tomorrow. We were going back and forth swimming laps working on our technique, Like our underwater kick and our Breaststroke kick. We were getting timed so most of us were trying to beat each other’s time. My best time was 22 seconds for freestyle and 29 seconds for breaststroke. I was pretty happy with those times but I knew I could be faster and waste my old time. Have you been I swimming sports?

Today we went to the library to grab a book, sadly:(  We had to bring it back to class for reading. In the library, the bros Tauwharangi and PJ were at the back so I went back there to get a book and sit next to them. We were down there for a solid ten minutes reading but we just sat there looking at a wall. We had to grab a book and give it to the librarians to sign it out. Have you got a book out from the library?

Today we went down to the beach for a beach trip. We had Edi, Ruth,  Mania, and Ambar from Surf Life Saving. They came from Raglin and even England to be surf lifesavers over here in New Zealand.

The first thing we did was learn about the dissimulator and where it goes because it is different for kids and different for adults. On an adult, u would place the pads on the right side of the heart and below the heart so the electric pulse through the heart and betting again at a normal pace.

They taught us about the rips and the different parts of the rip like the start where the water is pulling from the shallows of the rip and is taking us out to the back of the head of the rip which is behind the breakers. The middle bit is the strongest which pulls you all the way out fast. The annoying thing is that you have to swim all the way in again.

We finally got out of all the education stuff and we went into the water. We were split up into two groups I was in a group that did tube rescues and the other group did bogey boarding. We had to choose a duo and then we had one friend come to rescue you, we did that for a little while then we swapped over and then we went to do some bogey boarding.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The start of this year has been not the most exciting, there have been some good times but not to fun. I had my dad come in to teach because the school was short on teachers. since most of my mates were older than me they all left to go to college. I don’t really miss them but I kinda get bored without them. This year hopefully is gonna get better with the trip that we were told was gonna happen but lets see. Hows your 2024 going?
